My story is not unique as it’s the story of many women who grew up during the antibiotic revolution in the late 20th Century. As a child, I suffered from several illness, including frequent colds, fevers and respiratory illnesses. My doctors would treat these symptoms with antibiotics. Knowing what we now know about antibiotics I believe this over-prescription led to even more health issues. By the time I entered high school I was a mess, suffering from constant headaches, chronic fatigue and digestive issues like constipation, bloating and just plain feeling ill most of the time.
Every time I went to the doctor they were not able to find a cause for my issues, and would end up prescribing more antibiotics. What a vicious cycle! This went on through my mid 20s. Then one day when I was around 25 years old I walked into a small local health food store. That experience would change my health and my life forever. I realized that if I wanted to get better, I had to take responsibility for my own health. I started educating myself about my body and how it works, or rather how it’s supposed to work.
I became fascinated with learning more about the digestive system, as I believed this was the source of my health issues. I found a natural practitioner who offered a procedure called Colon Hydrotherapy. After several treatments I started to feel better. My headaches were becoming much less frequent, and I was no longer chronically constipated. This practitioner also suggested several herbs to help restore balance to my body that resulted in more energy and a clearer mind.
This experience sparked a desire to learn about how nature has provided us with natural health remedies and how the digestive system relates to our overall health. I decided to get more formal education and became a Colon Hydrotherapist, as well as studied several forms of natural health such as herbology, nutrition and body therapy.
After several years working alongside an Integrative Medical Doctor, I opened my own clinics specializing in colon and natural wellness therapies. After years of working with people and suggesting natural remedies, I realized I could formulate my own products to use within my clinic. After incorporating my specific formulations, I began to see tremendous differences in myself and my client’s health. It became apparent that healing the gut resulted in not only a resolution of digestive issues but had positive effects on our entire physical, mental and emotional well-being.
After seeing such success at my clinics, I decided to bring my formulations to the general public by offering them to health food stores. My formulations became very popular as more and more people experienced better health as a result. I decided to leave the clinic and focus entirely on formulating new revolutionary natural health products. In early 2001, I developed a simple nutrition system I call The HOPE Formula. HOPE stands for High Fiber, Omega-3 Oils, Probiotics and Enzymes – all the ingredients and nutrition you need to improve your health.
As I look back, I realize now that what I went through with my health had a purpose. I cannot think of a better gift than that of seeing people recover their own health by following the HOPE formula.
