“Renew You” Challenge – Why is it that whenever someone decides to live healthier, there has to be a complete overhaul of every aspect their life? Like okay, I’m starting my diet tomorrow, and that means no sweets, no snacking and exercising every day. And then I’m going to be nicer to people, be better at my job, and remember to call my mom at least once a week…and the list goes on! So what’s missing?

Here’s the problem – most folks spend all this time creating their new “life plan” and thinking about how they’re going to do it, but then they never actually do it. My advice? Baby steps. Start small, and maybe even begin by writing down the changes you want to make, and why you want to make them. Do you want to lose weight? Are you concerned about certain aspects of your body or your health? Do you want to set a better example for your kids? Maybe just choose one goal and focus on that at first, instead of trying to change everything about your life right off the bat.

The truth is, there are so many good reasons for wanting to improve your health, but instead of focusing on those reasons, we get all caught up in the details and then never make any actual progress, and it’s just setting ourselves up for disaster. So if you start small and really focus on your goal, it will be easier to stay on track and be successful. Trust me, it really works!
